Zooming up the list
July 17th, 2008

Okay, I’m still in shock here but my free Kindle book, Devils on Horseback: Nate, has skyrocketed up the best seller list.

Check it out y’all, it’s at #55 on the Kindle>Books list.

And at #2 in Kindle>Books>Romance, sandwiched between Nora and Linda Howard.

*swoon*

OMG!

I want to thank everyone with a Kindle who is giving my book a try - I hope y’all enjoy it. If you haven’t heard, Devils on Horseback: Nate, is free in the Kindle format until Sunday, July 20th.

Back from the beach, time to set goals
July 1st, 2008

It was hot, sticky and fun. :) We’re officially back from the beach and while I did stick to writing, I didn’t accomplish my goal (dammit all to hell). :(

Anyhoo, I’m back on the horse again, because what do you do when you fall off? Get back up again of course! I’m trying desperately to balance two books and a side job, not to mention family, my “real” job and not going completely insane.

One month until I go to Vegas, so I’m setting goals now. In concrete so they are immovable. Let’s see, goal number 1, have 60K written of Micah’s story. No chance of not hitting that goal. *shakes head* No chance at all. Second goal is to not only complete Zeke’s story within the next few days, but also to get the synopsis written for Lee’s story (next in the Devils on Horseback series) by the end of July.

Okay, you are all witnesses to my self-flagellation and setting o’ concrete goals. You are hereby authorized to smack me if I don’t hit those goals. I don’t plan on having fun in Vegas unless I’m successful.

There, I’ve done it. *stamp of approval* No going back now!

I’m going to be sending out Sexy Spurs this coming weekend, probably on Friday the 4th, so look for it in your e-mail boxes. If you’re not a member, you can sign up here.

Have a fabulous Tuesday!

Heading into the writing cave
May 22nd, 2008

Hopefully this virus will go away. :( I knew something was up when I kept feeling exhausted every day, like barely keep my eyes open tired. Then my glands got swollen, now I’m battling it almost full-on and feel like I got hit by a bus. Blech. I even missed my radio podcast interview with Mandy and Michelle yesterday (gads, I feel awful about that!).

However, I have the next five days off (woo!) and I planned on finishing Zeke’s story. I can only hope Dayquill does its job, along with copious amounts of tea and water, so I can reach my goal. Micah is calling and I’ve got to answer.

I’ll probably be offline most of the weekend, so you can catch me next Tuesday when I come up for air (briefly) before heading back into the cave.

One. Two. Three. Write!

Tops in someone’s book
May 20th, 2008

So last week I was checking out Fictionwise when I saw The Treasure and the Reward were in the top five rated books in the Erotica category. Holy hell! This morning, this is what I saw:

It made me stop dead and stare in stupefication. I’ve got the top two rated books on Fictionwise in Erotica. *gasp*

No f’ing way!!

Is that not crazy? I took the image so I could prove to myself it wasn’t just a dream. Pretty cool, eh?

I also noticed my Loose Id series books, The Perfect Score, are now for sale on Fictionwise. Sweet!

Hope y’all are having a kickin’ Tuesday!

B.I.G. News
April 30th, 2008

And I do mean B.I.G…. you know how you never realize just how things will change your life?

I am grateful to Mike and Raven at Liquid Silver Books for giving me my first contract four years ago.

I wouldn’t have met Sasha White, who has become a confidante, ass-kicker when needed, critique partner and friend.

If I hadn’t published with them, I wouldn’t have met Lena Matthews and Maggie Casper, or been invited by them to write a story for Loose Id. It was at Loose Id, I e-published The Education of Madeline two years ago…

If I hadn’t met Sasha White, I wouldn’t have submitted to Samhain - she encouraged me to do so. I met Crissy and my ultra-talented editor Sasha Knight, the lovely Marty Mathews, and the adorable Amanda Brashear. All of my author friends (you know who you are) would not be in my life.

And now, for the sweetest moment of all. My news. The B.I.G. news. Are you ready?

On Monday, I spoke to Kate Duffy from Kensington. By Monday afternoon, I had a three book offer and contracted with the lovely Laura Bradford to be my agent.

I am bursting proud to say I am now officially a Kensington Brava author with the amazing Kate Duffy as my editor. The first book is going to be The Education of Madeline coming in 3/09, with the second to be The Redemption of Micah coming in 7/09.

OMFG

I am still 100% stunned, shocked and squeeing like a five year old girl. So many things in my life have led up to this moment, to that perfect moment where I finally reached the goal I’d been busting my butt for. Nothing ever in life tasted so fantastic.

I am in happy land!
