I think we need some more kindness in the world today. Things are going haywire in so many ways, we need to get back to basic humanity for a while. So today’s TT is about kindness.

Thirteen Random Acts of Kindness

1. Hold the door for someone you don’t know.

2. Let a car in front of you in traffic.

3. Pay for the person’s meal behind you on the drive-thru line.

4. Donate what you can to your favorite charity.

5. Read a book with a child.

6. Clean up the mess left by someone else in the kitchen, without complaining.

7. Buy someone a gift, just because.

8. Buy yourself a gift, just because.

9. Clean out your closet and bring everything down to the Goodwill store or Salvation Army.

10. Send a handwritten note to someone.

11. Donate a book (or two) to your local library.

12. Give somebody a big, squeezy hug.

13. Tell someone you love them.

Do one, two or three of these. I guarantee you’ll feel good. :)

Ah, Thursday has arrived again. Woohoo! Friday eve, right? Oh yeah, right on y’all. I’m soooo ready for the weekend. I’ve finally got two days where I don’t really need to go anywhere, drive long distances or be my author self for an event.

Thirteen Things I Need/Want to Do This Weekend

1. Sleep late.

2. Wash my car - of course, slaves, er, I mean the kids will help out.

3. Weed. Again, isn’t that what kids are for?

4. Clean the bathroom. Geez, this is starting to sound like a chore list for the boys.

5. Write, write, write! At least 10K is my goal.

6. Go to a neighborhood pool party Saturday. Thankfully I already got a new bathing suit.

7. Throw out or recycle the junk piled up in my closets.

8. Make a nice pile of things for the tag sale next weekend.

9. Make the chitlins pick out stuff they don’t need/want/use for the tag sale. I told them if they wanted to keep the money for it, they had to be there to sell it, or the money is Mom’s. *evil grin*

10. Deliver the band fundraiser goodies with the 16 YO.

11. Read/finish a book. I started one at RT and still haven’t finished it.

12. Watch a movie.

13. Did I mention sleep late? Oh, man, I can’t wait for that one.

It’s been a while since I posted a TT, so I thought I’d get one out there today.

Thirteen Amazing/Crazy/Memorable Events in April

1. My DS turned 12. *sigh*

2. I found out braces cost $5200 for a 12 YO. Ugh.

3. I went to RT and survived.

4. The final book in the Malloy series, The Legacy, released in print.

5. I finally met Kate Duffy.

6. Laura Bradford became my agent. Yeehaw!

7. Kate Duffy offered me a 3 book Brava contest. *hyperventilating*

8. I spent over $30 on a tank of gas for my Prius. It’s only 11 gallons. :(

9. I finished edits on Hell for Leather.

10. I spent a rainy five days at the beach.

11. I became a brunette again! Yay!

12. I celebrated 18 years of marriage with my DH.

13. I realized that achieving a dream is sweeter than any chocolate and more satisfying than… well, not quite, but almost more satisfying than anything else in the world.

Ah, Thursday again. I like Thursday because it’s a close cousin of Friday. And that, dear readers, is the coolest day of the week. My body is tired, my eyes sting, and it seems I haven’t gotten used to daylight savings time yet (grrrr). Today’s TT is an easy one that doesn’t strain my overworked brain.

I am a movie fan, big time. I love, love, love movies. Some of these you might not have seen, so if you haven’t, consider this a two thumbs up recommendation.

My Favorite Thirteen Movies

1. Princess Bride - I still crack up during the wedding ceremony. “Mawiage, mawiage is what brings us togever today…”

2. Steel Magnolias - What a wonderful cast of strong women. I bawl right along with M’Lyn at the cemetery.

3. O Brother Where Art Thou - Love the Coen brothers, this one was their best, IMHO. “Damn, we’re in a tight spot.”

4. Planes, Trains and Automobiles - Huge fan of both Steve Martin and John Candy.

5. Stage Door - my favorite Katherine Hepburn movie. “The calla lillies are in bloom again.”

6. North by Northwest - Cary Grant acting in an Alfred Hitchock movie, loved it.

7. Chocolat - A sexy, fun movie with Johnny Depp and Juliette Binoche.

8. Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl - The first movie was the best, IMO, and Johnny at his finest, not to mention Orlando Bloom. Double delight.

9. Open Range - Kevin Costner’s got my vote for best cowboy in today’s movie scene. Awesome western.

10. Hidalgo - *sigh* A western with Viggo Mortensen on a horse, need I say more?

11. Sound of Music - I’ll admit that I love musicals and this is my all-time favorite next to Seven Brides for Seven Brothers.

12. Quigley Down Under - I’ve always loved Tom Selleck, but his portrayal of a sharp-shooter in Australia was wonderful.

13. Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood - Powerful movie, wonderful cast. I read the book before the movie and enjoyed both immensely.

You know, there are so many odd and sometimes fascinating things that happen in the world. My friend and I used to read the Weekly World News (think National Enquirer only worse) in college just to get that taste of the bizarre.

I don’t have to read the Weekly World News anymore.

Thirteen Bizzare/Strange/Odd News Stories

1. Woman sat on Toilet for Two Years. This is really the #1 odd story. I mean, WTH?

2. In One Arizona Home, Hundreds of Dogs Found in ‘Record Breaker’ Bust. 800 dogs, y’all.

3. Arizona City Wants Moat to Secure Mexico Border. A moat, as in Medieval moat! Wonder if they’ll put crocodiles in it.

4. Boyfriend Kept Woman’s Body on Ice for a Year at SoCal Hotel ‘for Religious Reasons’. Not any religion I’d want to belong to.

5. Woman Tries to Bring Skeleton on Plane. Yet another dead body? This one in a ziploc baggie?

6. Woman Faces Fine for Dyeing Poodle Pink. Hell, she should have a right to a pink poodle, dontcha think?

7. Honey Drips out of California Family’s Walls. Um, yuck.

8. Texas Mother, Son Charged in Sex Slavery Plot. Okay, now, sharing a sex slave with your mom goes beyond squicky.

9. Illness Caused by Brain-Eating Amoeba Kills Calif. Firefighter. OMG, the poor man!

10. 30,000 people a year wake during surgery. This does NOT make me want to go under the knife anytime soon.

11. Dolphin appears to rescue stranded whales. Now that is really cool!

12. Sample The Beer Before You Buy It. Man, they do some cool stuff in Washington.

13. The best for last, right? Clinic: Have Vasectomy, Watch NCAA Hoops. How much do men really love basketball anyway?
