Ah, Thursday again. I like Thursday because it’s a close cousin of Friday. And that, dear readers, is the coolest day of the week. My body is tired, my eyes sting, and it seems I haven’t gotten used to daylight savings time yet (grrrr). Today’s TT is an easy one that doesn’t strain my overworked brain.
I am a movie fan, big time. I love, love, love movies. Some of these you might not have seen, so if you haven’t, consider this a two thumbs up recommendation.
My Favorite Thirteen Movies
1. Princess Bride - I still crack up during the wedding ceremony. “Mawiage, mawiage is what brings us togever today…”
2. Steel Magnolias - What a wonderful cast of strong women. I bawl right along with M’Lyn at the cemetery.
3. O Brother Where Art Thou - Love the Coen brothers, this one was their best, IMHO. “Damn, we’re in a tight spot.”
4. Planes, Trains and Automobiles - Huge fan of both Steve Martin and John Candy.
5. Stage Door - my favorite Katherine Hepburn movie. “The calla lillies are in bloom again.”
6. North by Northwest - Cary Grant acting in an Alfred Hitchock movie, loved it.
7. Chocolat - A sexy, fun movie with Johnny Depp and Juliette Binoche.
8. Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl - The first movie was the best, IMO, and Johnny at his finest, not to mention Orlando Bloom. Double delight.
9. Open Range - Kevin Costner’s got my vote for best cowboy in today’s movie scene. Awesome western.
10. Hidalgo - *sigh* A western with Viggo Mortensen on a horse, need I say more?
11. Sound of Music - I’ll admit that I love musicals and this is my all-time favorite next to Seven Brides for Seven Brothers.
12. Quigley Down Under - I’ve always loved Tom Selleck, but his portrayal of a sharp-shooter in Australia was wonderful.
13. Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood - Powerful movie, wonderful cast. I read the book before the movie and enjoyed both immensely.
