Sweet - Marielle’s Marshal is coming in print
April 12th, 2008

Check it out y’all. Marielle’s Marshal, my hot short story, is coming in print in the Sand, Sun and Sex anthology!

Here’s the purty cover:

It’s already for sale on Amazon.

Woohoo!

Finally Friday
April 11th, 2008

I made it through another week. Whew! This was a tough week too. Nothing seems to be going right - I mean, I didn’t even win the lottery! However, nobody did, so I’ve got a shot at the $80 million tomorrow.

This weekend will be incredibly busy with family business to take care of, hopefully get the yard mowed and cleaned up (that’s what slave labor is for, e.g., kids). I’ve also got to find time to pack my RT gear, sort through what I’m bringing and mentally gear myself up for a long week.

I’m soooo glad it’s Friday!! Yaya! I think I want to watch a movie on DVD tonight - I’ve got Sweeney Todd from Blockbuster. Have you seen it?

When I was in South Carolina, I went to the movies and saw 10,000 BC. It was pretty good - I enjoyed it and so did my 12 YO. Honestly it was a bit of a romance b/c our hero D’nae followed his true love and never gave up looking for her after she was kidnapped.

Romance in caveman days. Totally righteous!

I have book club tonight and I think I’ll go out to dinner with DH on Sunday. :) Anybody else have interesting weekend plans?

E-mail issues
April 10th, 2008

Loooong story but suffice it to say if they didn’t have the fastest high-speed Internet, there’s no way in hell I’d do business with Time Warner Cable. My e-mail is in limbo at the moment so if you’ve tried to e-mail me and it bounced, that’s why.

My bethwilliamson@nc.rr.com is defunct until fixed (stupid, stupid Time Warner) by their “network support” who live in a cave somewhere because nobody can talk to them. Please use cowgirlbeth@gmail.com instead until I get this sorted out with the cave trolls.

Back to your regularly scheduled programming.

I’m not here today

Guest blogging again! :) Catch me over at the Samhain blog - I’m talking about my vacation at the beach and I’m all wet. LOL!

What if I won?
April 9th, 2008

The Powerball lottery jackpot is up to $68 million. For those of you who don’t know what it is, it’s a multi-state lottery that can get up to $300 million at times. North Carolina has only had the lottery a year so it’s still a novelty to buy a ticket.

I’ll likely stop today and buy four (drawing is tonight), one for each member of my family. I often like to dream about what I’d do if I won. Sometimes we play that game in the car with each other and everyone has such ideas.

What if I won?

First off, I’d pay off every debt we owe including the house and the car. No bills but the utilities and groceries. Can you imagine?

Second, I’d put away enough so that each of my kids could go to any college of their choice.

Third, I’d give money to my family and DH’s family.

Then comes the fun part. :)

Would I quit my job? Hell yes. Not even a hesitation - of course I’d give them two weeks notice, but ya know, it’s a no brainer decision.

I’d be planning vacations too - on cruise ships, to Holland, to Australia and New Zealand and to the Grand Canyon. I’ve only traveled a little in my life, mostly up and down the Eastern seaboard and there’s so much to see.

I’d hire someone to finish off the third floor for DH and make it into a man cave with a big-ass movie theater. Then I’d build a workshop for him in the backyard.

For me, I’d hire a maid. Oh, just thinking about it makes me giddy. Then I’d hire a landscaper to redo my entire lawn and make it purty. Perhaps I’d detail my car too - no need to buy a new one though. This fuel-efficient one is still perfect.

What about y’all? What would you do if you won $68 million?
