TGIF
January 25th, 2008

Although a short week, I’m so glad it’s Friday. *great, big sigh* I’ve got Monday off so it’s a three day weekend (woo!) which will be spent doing edits and cleaning my house (boo!).

Since I’m not supposed to be online (you never saw me, right?) I’m going to post a quiz for Friday fun! Have a wonderful, faboo weekend everybody!!!

You Are a Mai Tai

You aren’t a big drinker, but you’ll drink if the atmosphere is festive.
And when you’re drunk, watch out! You’re easily carried away.

Hm, I’m not so sure I want to be a Mai-Tai. I was hoping to be a screwdriver.

Thursday Thirteen
January 24th, 2008

Well it was a short-lived stint outside the writing cave, but oh so enjoyable. So now I retreat back into the cave… and go under the radar.

Thirteen Reasons I’ll Be Scarce Online

1. Edits, edits, edits. Oh, Lord, do I have edits.

2. I’ve been offered a freelance job as a tech writer (vacation $!) through mid-February.

3. If I’m online, I’m not editing (note to self, get OFFLINE).

4. My DH is gone the entire weekend so I have control of the remote (not that I’ll be watching TV, but I had to crow like an alpha hen).

5. I want to keep my release date, therefore I must work my butt off.

6. Y’all distract me because you’re so much fun.

7. After I finish the edits, I’ve got to write three novellas and synopses for two novels.

8. I need sleep after all that editing and writing.

9. I’m still in mourning over Heath.

10. My house is an utter mess so I think I’ll use housecleaning to reboot my brain between editing sessions.

11. Kids? Oh yeah, I’ve got two kids and a gecco that might require some of my time.

12. When I come up for air from editing, my DH is gonna need some attention and deservedly so for being so patient.

13. I’m fairly certain I mentioned the incredibly wicked, entirely-my-fault-for-screwing-up edits. *sigh*

Ode to Heath
January 23rd, 2008

I’m heartbroken to hear of Heath Ledger’s death. I’ve loved that young actor since I saw him in Ten Things I Hate About You. Some of my favorites featured that Aussie with his fabulous cheekbones. I can watch A Knight’s Tale over and over and not get tired of it.

What an incredibly sad thing to happen.

When I watched Brokeback Mountain, I kept a box of tissues by my side. The movie touched me deeply and Heath portrayed Ennis perfectly - the stoic face, the pursed lips. My heart ached for him.

The Four Feathers was another one of my favs. If you’ve never seen it, Heath plays a man disavowed by his friends, feathers meaning he’s a coward, and is devastated. Instead of going off with his regiment, he loses his girl, his friends and sets off on a journey to the Sudan. Amazing imagery and Heath’s Harry was again, really wonderful.

Heath was talented, IMO, and the world has lost a beloved son. May his soul and his family find peace. We’ll miss you, darling.

Woohoo, I’m done!

Dancing out of the writing cave… Kincaid’s story is done, Oh yeah, uh-huh, all right! {_/_}{_\_}{_/_}{_\_}{_/_}{_\_}

Hell for Leather is now in the hands of my CP and my editor!!!

*big, humongous, enormous sigh*

Now what? LOL! I have so many ideas, so many projects to start on. I have something cooking with my peeps Sasha White and Lorelei James, and another with someone else (yes, I’m being vague) which is a contemporary cop erotic romance (ooooh, Texas Ranger, anyone?).

And I have to get proposals together for Devils on Horseback: Zeke and yet another novel I want to write about a woman coming home to North Carolina to face her demons.

But for today, I will take time to celebrate, watch a movie and take a breath, and maybe a nap.
