You know, sometimes I just shouldn’t Google myself. We writers tend to get a little obsessive with checking on things like reviews, Amazon rankings and best sellers lists, so we Google ourselves like I did last night.
*sigh*
I found several hits on some forms and let me tell y’all, they weren’t good (insert negative description of choice). You see, I write in varying heat levels and some folks are expecting the same amount of sex/kink/heat in every book I write. Honestly, the story tells itself in terms of how far it will go. I’ve been dinged a few times on Amazon reviews by people expecting more erotica than sensual romance - I have to put a warning that says “explicit sex” because there is explicit language and sex in my books.
That doesn’t mean kink/bondage/MM/gratuitous humping. Apparently it’s pissed some readers off and they have no qualms about telling people to avoid my writing or slamming me silly.
*double sigh* 
I think everyone is entitled to their opinions and preferences but to completely dismiss my writing just plain hurts. Yes, I agree that my earlier books (from 2005 and 2006) do not have the maturity level in terms of writing that my newer books have. Absolutely true - every writer should grow and hone their craft the more they’ve been at it. But please, y’all, remember that writers are people too and if you didn’t like the book you read, let people know. However, it’s not okay to bash the writer to pieces - a person is much different than a book. 
Pity party over. Back to your regular scheduled programming.

I’ve never understood people who feel the need to not only critique but personally attack anyone else. I love to read and read a lot……….all kinds of books and if I don’t like something I don’t buy or read more of that author, I leave it at that.
I found Beth Williamson about a year or so ago………my first book was The Prize. I fell in love with Jack and Rebecca. I was lucky enough to find all the other Malloy series books (the last 2 I have in ebook until the print copies are out) and read them quickly……..loved them all. I love the way you write, you drew me into the story, into the characters……they were all stories that were wonderful to read. I have read (I think) almost everything you have written and I can’t think of a single negative thing to say………I am a fan and look forward to all the wonderful stories you will be writing in the future!!

aww beth im sorry to hear someone gave u a bad comment. is like blanch said if u dont like the book just dont buy dont even read it. my first book was giving to me by my dh. he bought me sashas bound and i fell in love with the character n how she wrote them, felt like i was in the book my self. i went to her site saw alot of other authors n checked them out. i saw your name clicked on it n read your blog read some of the books desided to pick it up n ive been a follower since 06′.(igot devils on a horse back today
)so thats what i do. i reserch the book n if i like it ill buy it, if i dont then i dont. no reason to attack the person who wrote the book.i know everyone has there opinions but if u have nothing nice to say just dont say anything at all n move on. if there was not enough sex in the book then u know what go buy a plygirl mag then, theres pleanty there. now this are my two cents lol
