Seven Days and Counting
September 18th, 2007

Not that I’m excited or anything.

Seven days until Devils on Horseback: Nate releases from Samhain. Woot! I am gearing up for a week or two of all-out blitz promotion and fun. Gads, I am so excited to see this series get off the ground!!

It’s been almost two years since the concept of the series came to me and I couldn’t be more excited to have Samhain publish it. My editor Sasha worked with me to shine it up until it’s just perfect. The reviews have been coming in and they’re all stellar - that’s never happened before.

I’m packing my bags because I’m going to be traveling the Internet. It starts with guest blogging at the Romance Reader at Heart blog tomorow, then list mom at the Samhain Cafe on the 24th, then I’m hanging out with Sybil at The Good, The Bad, and the Unread on release day! Of course I’m also blogging a the Samhain blog on release day, the 25th, then again on Friday the 28th.

This month’s Sexy Spurs winner gets a fabulous Devils on Horseback: Nate prize pack including a beautiful tote bag filled with goodies including bookmarks, notecards and a magnet. If you’re not a subscriber, sign up and enter to win.

I hope y’all will join me as I celebrate Nate’s release. I’m really proud of it and I hope you enjoy!

The countdown begins… here’s seven cowboys to commemorate seven days left!

Selling the series
September 15th, 2007

Check it out y’all. All seven of the Malloy family series are now on Fictionwise. I made this cool graphic that shows what’s what in the series - it’s actually on my website on the Historical page if you click on the heading Malloy Family Series.

They have a special page set up for the series - you can buy all of them at once! That’s very cool. I think I’ll go poke around to see what other series they have on there…

I am at a women’s conference today so I’ll be offline most of the weekend. Have a great weekend!

A.I. for real
September 14th, 2007

A.I. - remember the movie? Apparently the boy robot from the movie A.I. was created in California. For real, y’all, a boy robot named Zeno. You can read the article here and see Zeno’s website here.

I think what kind of creeps me out is the the robot has the same name as inventor Hanson’s 18-month-old son. That just brings back the uncomfortable feeling I had watching A.I. knowing the mother was simply substituting Haley Joel Osment for her nearly dead son. The movie disturbed me at a human level, seeing what we are capable of, and knowing how these “mechas” were simply thrown away. Reminds me a bit of how we treat each other actually.

Then to find out there is an A.I. robot (thank God his name isn’t David) which was actually conceived after reading the book upon which the movie was based. Really, y’all, it creeps me out a little bit. Zeno the robot even has a blog. It would send shivers up my spine if Zeno were actually writing the blog posts.

Am I being old-fashioned? Should I accept new technology for what it is or has my brain been sabotaged by my own imagination?
