The opportunity to spread my wings…
July 3rd, 2006

The one thing I really love about Loose Id is that I’m allowed to spread my wings. Like a playground where you don’t get yelled at for doing crazy stunts or running barefoot. :)

When I decided to write a series based in a bowling alley, I really wanted Loose Id to publish it. I wanted to push my envelope wipe open, or rather tear it up so it wasn’t there anymore. Along came the ideas for The Perfect Score.

Now that book 1 is published, One Night Stand, I sit back and hold my breath waiting. It’s nothing like what I’ve written before and I wonder if it will be well received. Book 2 is set to be published in August and it’s an F/F love story, very different from One Night Stand… Book 3 is coming in September and it’s about a full-figured heroine, the third in my triangle of bowling heroines…

Imagine my nervousness when Joy at Joyfully Reviewed told me that One Night Stand had been reviewed… and Chrissy Dionne at Romance Junkies told me the same thing. Can you hear me biting my nails?

From Joyfully Reviewed:
“Fully expecting a romantic, poignant love story, I got a no holds barred erotic tale…One Night Stand by Beth Williamson is completely different from anything I have ever read from her.  I liked it.  Simple as that.  I liked it.  Once again Ms. Williamson shows her talent as a writer that I can depend on to give me an entertaining read.  I can’t wait for the next installment of this series!” Reviewer: Talia Ricci

From Romance Junkies:
“Beth Williamson has created a story readers will want to read many times over. ONE NIGHT STAND contains realistic characters, squabbling teammates, a huge bowling tournament, and one sexy as sin determined man. Babs has self protection down to an art form. By sleeping with many men there’s no need to have any real relationship with any of them, but without any relationship it’s still just sex and not fulfilling. Jimmy is the only man who’s had the ability to get to the woman behind the persona and that terrifies her. I loved reading how Jimmy incorporates his Japanese heritage into his courtship of Babs and her reaction to each gesture. The friendship and understanding between Babs, Veronica, and Marlene is a key factor in this story and I can’t wait to see what happens with Veronica and Marlene.” Reviewer: Chrissy Dionne, 4 1/2 Blue Ribbons

I needn’t have worried–it was all good. I’m very proud of what I wrote and grateful to Loose Id for giving me the chance to spread my wings and step off to fly. :)
