I’m home
May 21st, 2006

It was a helluva drive, but I made it. Ran into some wicked thunderstorms in SC that scared me - lots of lightning.

Anyhoo, I’m unpacked, recovering, and searching frantically for an agent’s business card that went missing. I’ll look more later.

The Book Fair on Saturday was nerve-wracking and amazing. I sold half my books (that’s a total of five :D ) and met even more folks I know online. Like Trang Black (the reviewer), Billie Jo from RJ (she’s so sweet!), and so many others my brain can’t even focus on them! LOL!

So I’ve got some snarly edits to get to over the next day or so. I’m trying to catch up on everything I’ve missed (including the release of The Prize!). I missed all of you that couldn’t make it, but we’ll meet someday I’m sure.

Now for dinner and relaxing!

Day 7 - Okay I’m ready to go home
May 20th, 2006

Today is the Book Fair. Club RT is all packed up and promo alley is empty. I’ve got 10 copies of Vixen Virgins and 5 of The Education of Madeline on CD.

I’m excited but nervous. :)

Yesterday I finally meet Marty and Jessica from Samhain! I had been looking for them. I still have not found Silvia Violet but I’m on a mission today to say hello.

My editor appointment fizzled - I got double booked and bumped. :( However, the agent appointment was good. I liked him, now I just need to get everything together to submit to the three editors/agent I liked and send it off. *biting nails*

Yesterday was the RT awards lunch and it was nice (but lunch was a little skimpy). We did get more free books. I love the free books. ;)

Last night was the Faery Ball and Christy and I walked around for 45 minutes to find a seat. We missed dinner because we couldn’t find one. It wasn’t the best evening entertainment this week - I thought the pirate sketch by Heather Graham was pretty funny the night before. So we left before the end and came back to the house.

So I’m taking off after the book fair and heading home. I’m tired, but happy over everything that’s happened here. It’s been an amazing, exhausting experience. :D

Day 5 and 6 - Oops I missed a day
May 19th, 2006

Sorry y’all. Day 5 was so busy I didn’t have time to blog.

Met lots more folks from Loose Id and I met AzGaye from my CowboyLovers group. She’s a doll! Oh, and I also met Danny Firedragon - she came all the way from Germany and is at RT!

Wednesday was an amazingly full day and I didn’t have time to take a breath. Ellora’s Cave had their party Wednesday night which was loud and fun. They had chocolate (which I missed) and dancing.

Thursday was another full day. Out by 8:30, in at 12:00 am. I’m pooped this morning so I’m taking a few hours to rest before I head over there at 10.

I had one agent appointment and two editor appointments. Today I have one of each. Still nervous about these! But I’m getting better, don’t sound like such a dork.

Anyhoo, sorry I’m not witty or funny this morning. I haven’t had my coffee yet, which I’m about to remedy. I’ll catch y’all tomorrow!

Day 4 - Now we really get busy
May 17th, 2006

So yesterday I met lots of people I just had to meet! Okay, let’s see… I met Peaches (Robin2) and she is a wonderful, sweet lady. She and Christy and I had drinks and chatted during the afternoon. Then I met another reader named Minta who was absolutely adorable.

Then I met Paige Burns and Tiffany Aaron from LSB. They were just what I expected them to be. Love ‘em!

I met Angela Knight (Woohoo!), Arianna Hart, Heather Graham’s husband Dennis, and the incredibly talented Scott Carpenter. Oh, I just loooooove the covers he does (especially mine ;) ).

At the welcome luau, I met Laura Baumbach, Shara Lanel, Eve Vaughn, Liz Andrews, and my incredibly talented partners, Lena Matthews and Maggie Casper. \:d/

Gotta take a breath here…

Then (cue the music)… I met JOY! Yes, I sure did. She was wearing those bunny ears too. OMG - she is as crazy and fun in person as she is online. :D Shelly Laurenston and I met and congratulated each other on our Samhain release!

I’m sure there are others I didn’t mentionĀ - there were a bunch of Triskelion writers, and others that I said hello to.

Christy and I put our promo stuff out on promo alley around 3:45. When we checked back at 10… it was already GONE! I mean, it was only about 200 of my stuff, so I’ve got plenty more, but GONE. :o I did a really nice display with poster and spurs and stuff. I’ve got to grab a picture today so I can show y’all.

Today I’ll be at Club RT for the first time in about two hours. We’ll see if I can be charming with six hours sleep. I have to tell you, hearing readers tell me how much they like my stuff is amazing. I felt about ten feet tall yesterday. :x

Day 3 - We get to meet everyone!
May 16th, 2006

Well, today is D day - the day we register and meet all these folks. So far in our house we have an amazing mix of folks, writers, readers, spouses, and sisters.

Let’s see, staying in our haunted house is Lena Austin, Snowe Grey, Stephanie Burke (Flash), Camille Anthony, Christy, me, and then we have an editor (Peggy), her husband, Flash’s sister, and Teebizzle - sweet Terri.

The stories I could tell you… Woo boy! Let’s just say there’s some interesting chocolate floating around this house. :o

Yesterday, Christy and I sat drinking mai tais at a beach bar and listening to three ladies behind us trying to pick up this delicious looking man. When we heard them say they were romance writers, our ears perked up. They were probably in their 40s and he was no more than 23. Beautiful man, and lucky for them, relatively drunk. They tried to convince him to become a cover model. He kept saying “I’m not good looking. I’m out of shape and I have no butt.” /:)

I assure you, he had a very nice ass. The manager finally came over and asked the drunk hottie and his stupid friend to leave so alas, the writers did not get the hard body. However, I’m going to be on the lookout to see exactly who they were. ;)

Today I’m going with Christy to meet the Trisk peeps, then later is the welcome luau. I’ll post more info tomorrow. I’m so sorry all of you couldn’t come - I so wanted to meet all of my peeps. :)
