HEA or just happy?
May 31st, 2006

I’m putting together a proposal for Hillary Sares and Kensington and when I got to the end of my synopsis, I realized the book did not have a traditional happily ever after (HEA), but rather it was a happy ending. I hope I’m explaining that right.

You know, the heroine doesn’t go off into the sunset with the hero, married. She becomes partners with him and they continue to have sex. Erp. Note that this is 1875 Texas, y’all. Not exactly a den of free thinkers in terms of women who are free with their favors.

What to y’all think? Would you be pissed if you read an historical story where the heroine doesn’t marry the hero?

  1. nope not at all… I would be pissed if I was reading a romance novel where the h/h split up at the end or just went their own way

Erotica is cool for that but not romance. LOL sez I :-”

  2. Cool. Glad to hear that. I like the ending the way it is. Now I just need to write the book! :d

  3. (%) I would love to read a story like that. Especially if the personality of the woman is one where I can see her as an “out of the box” personality.

  4. Indy - yay! I’m glad to hear that. I’m liking Charley (that’s the heroine’s name) a lot. She’s way ahead of her time for 1875. *back to plotting in my head*
