Well, today is D day - the day we register and meet all these folks. So far in our house we have an amazing mix of folks, writers, readers, spouses, and sisters.
Let’s see, staying in our haunted house is Lena Austin, Snowe Grey, Stephanie Burke (Flash), Camille Anthony, Christy, me, and then we have an editor (Peggy), her husband, Flash’s sister, and Teebizzle - sweet Terri.
The stories I could tell you… Woo boy! Let’s just say there’s some interesting chocolate floating around this house. :o
Yesterday, Christy and I sat drinking mai tais at a beach bar and listening to three ladies behind us trying to pick up this delicious looking man. When we heard them say they were romance writers, our ears perked up. They were probably in their 40s and he was no more than 23. Beautiful man, and lucky for them, relatively drunk. They tried to convince him to become a cover model. He kept saying “I’m not good looking. I’m out of shape and I have no butt.” /:)
I assure you, he had a very nice ass. The manager finally came over and asked the drunk hottie and his stupid friend to leave so alas, the writers did not get the hard body. However, I’m going to be on the lookout to see exactly who they were. ;)
Today I’m going with Christy to meet the Trisk peeps, then later is the welcome luau. I’ll post more info tomorrow. I’m so sorry all of you couldn’t come - I so wanted to meet all of my peeps. :)
Ah! I finally saw a hottie and a trio of writers beat me up to him. I virtually dragged Beth across the bar and sat down behind them so we could eavesdrop. I’m very viciously whispering, “Come on, Beth!” While she’s digging in her heels and saying, “Mai tais? This early?” (I’ve been having a mixed drink with every meal.) We even came back to the house with a 12 pack of Bud Lite. We’re such lushes.
