My good friend and CP, Sasha White has a new release from Amber Quill called The Petshani. :thumbup_tb:

As someone who read the story long before anyone else (one of the advantages of being her CP), I can tell you it’s hot, intriguing, and exciting. The premise is unique, too. I love the whole witchcraft angle. :cool1_tb:
Here’s the info on it:
THE PETSHANI
ISBN: 1-59279-501-3 (Electronic)
Genres: Witchcraft/Magic
Heat Level: 2
Length: Amber Kiss (7k words)
Karenna Logan is haunted by hot, salacious dreams. Or so she thinks until her sexy dream lover appears before her when she’s wide awake. Shandar is a Petshani, an otherworldly race of gypsies being hunted into extinction by a ruthless king. When Shandar asks for Karenna’s help, begging her to save him and the last of his dying race, can she dig into her own past to find a way to help him? Can she use her untapped magical powers to bring him and his people through a portal between their worlds before its too late?
So, dear readers, anyone want a free download of The Petshani? Sasha has graciously offered one to me and I want to give it to one of you! Anyone that posts today gets entered in a drawing to win it - tell me your most salacious dream, or just say hi. :bye_tb:

The interesting thing about being a struggling writer is you have no deadlines but your own. Oh, perhaps a contest deadline, but nothing legal or binding. When you sign a contract for a manuscript that’s complete, you have edits to get through, communicate with your editor, etc.
BUT when you contract a book that’s not written yet, you’re stepping into the realm of DEADLINES… *cue the deep music* :bigsurprise_ee:
It’s more than saying “yeah, I can do that.” You are committing on paper, not just any paper either but legally committing paper, that you will deliver the manuscript by a specific date. :blink_tb:
Does it motivate you to write? Damn straight! Does it interfere with your creative process? It shouldn’t. It’s like any other deadline in life, you commit yourself to meeting that date and do what you need to make it happen.
I’ve got two more novellas that are contracted and not written. One of them is due by April 3 and I’m half done with it (perhaps slightly over half). The other is due the beginning of May and not started yet.
Will I make the deadlines? Yep, I sure will. Will I contract more books without complete manuscripts? Hell yes! :thumbup_tb:
I’ve been asked by my lovely, amazing editors at Samhain and Loose Id for sequels to books. Sequels that I want to do, soooo, that books me solid for basically 2006 with four novels to write (not novellas people, full-length novels). I will have another book waiting patiently for me to get to it for the next nine months.
Does it feel good? You bet your ass! :grin2_ee:

Not that kind of coming! Well, yeah, I guess it is that kind too. :laugh_tb:
The Education of Madeline is on the Coming Soon page at Loose Id, and she has her own page!
I’m so excited! Can you tell? I absolutely love that cover - it’s one of my favorite scenes in the book, too. I believe it’s lesson 2. I believe Teague has at least five or six lessons for Madeline. :cheese1_ee:
April is going to be hopping! Not only is Madeline being released, but The Bounty is being re-released by Samhain in an expanded, re-edited version that completely rocks!
Not to mention the amazing covers for these books!
I can’t even think about May or I’ll hyperventilate… :laughingcowboy_tb:

I got this last week from my hottie connection, Janice. Look at them.

Double delicious, aren’t they? :happy_tb:
I immediately started naming them after characters. See, I’ve got three more Malloy books to write. Trevor, Brett, and Noah (the adopted son of Tyler from The Bounty - this one has been requested twice). So when I saw this picture, I thought, “Hey! That’s Trevor and Brett!” I’m thinking the lighter haired one is Trevor, he’s got a honeyed tongue and a dazzling smile. The darker haired one is Brett, he who doesn’t really talk much, but has a lot simmering beneath the lid, ya know? :wink1_tb:
You get to know them much better in The Treasure, coming in July from Samhain. Particularly Trevor - he helps Lily, the heroine, with… Oh, I can’t tell you now, can I? If you’ve read The Bounty, The Prize, and The Reward, then you’ll just have to patiently wait for The Treasure. That’s Raymond’s story. You know him, right? The oldest brother, the cranky one who never has patience with people? Yep, that’s him. Intense, brooding. :cool1_tb:
I’ve got to stop staring at this picture though. I am almost halfway through my second bowling story, Widow’s Weeds (this is the F/F), and have one more (Marlene’s Man) after that. Then I can worry about Trevor’s story… which will be titled The Gift. You heard it here first, folks. :cheese1_ee:
