Great feedback
March 23rd, 2006

So, y’all know I wrote my first F/F story and that it was the hardest thing I’ve ever written. I work with a woman who is probably the smartest person I know, and she’s also a lesbian. I have an enormous amount of respect for her and her partner and consider her to be a good friend. I asked her to read my F/F story (The Perfect Score 2: Widow’s Weeds) as my beta reader. This is what she told me:
‘I *devoured* your book last night…I’m very impressed and flattered that you asked me to be your beta reader. I let S**** read some of the steamy bits too. She was even more impressed when I said, “And this woman is married with two kids!” ‘
I was busting my buttons with pride. :king_tb: I am definitely pushing my limits and am way out of my comfort zone. Anyhoo, she called me last night and gave me some critiques on things I need to change a bit, but she also said she loved the characters, they were very believable and three dimensional. She also wondered how I got so accurate on those steamy scenes. “What kind of research have you been doing?” LOL! And, she said she was impressed that I ventured forth to write an F/F romance and predicted I would have a following. _tb: She does not offer praise easily so I took that like a gold nugget.
So I have some edits to work on this weekend and then she’s going to read it for a second time before I deliver it to my editor at Loose Id. :grin2_ee:

  1. WTG Beth :clap_tb: I’m out of my comfort zone with F/F too, but glad that you can write about it so well:grin1_ee: Janice

  2. Thanks Janice! I know there’s a niche for it, as there is for M/M romance. I just wanted to do something different, ya know?
