You get what you pay for
December 15th, 2005

This is one of DH’s favorite expressions. “You get what you pay for.”
He doesn’t bargain shop or look for sales. He simply buys what he wants for the price on it.
I, on the other hand, love to bargain shop and I carefully select what I spend my money on. So that brings me to today’s rant topic. Yahell. :furious_tb:
The first time I heard the name I was puzzled. I hadn’t been using my Yahoo group very long so I hadn’t experienced difficulties.
Oh, boy, oh boy has that changed! The last week has been an absolute pain in my everloving ass on Yahell! I received a slew of e-mails yesterday from four or five days ago. My posts are not showing up most of the time until 18 hours after I post them. This happens with e-mail posts or directly on the Yahoo group! :wallbash_tb:
I am so frustrated and annoyed that I had to rant today. :guns_tb:
Yahoo groups are free but I’m not getting what I paid in this case, which is nothing. Oh, no, I’m getting something. Frustration, annoyance, aggravation, gray hairs, and chocolate to soothe the snarling beast. :angry_ee:

Oh, so many WIPs, so little time
December 14th, 2005

One of the problems with being a writer is patience to finish. When a new story is swimming around like a school of blue fish in your head, you’re excited, anxious, and ready to rock and roll. :jittery_tb: You dive in and get cracking. Mid way through you’re probably still stroking along, but maybe not as enthusiastically. When you get to the last 25%, you’re ready to send out the buoy for help. :help_tb:
And the new WIP dances around like a Chippendale dancer, tempting you, taunting you, teasing you! “Come here,” it says. “Don’t you want to touch me?” :devil_tb:
I have to finish The Education of Madeline this month. There is no other choice! My Clio antho story is doing the dancing in the corner with my bowling stories (series of 3 about three women in a bowling alley in TX). They’re bumping and grinding away… :smile1_ee:
Thank Gawd I’ve got the week of Christmas off. I’m going to write like a fiend! Finish Madeline, write Clio, and do my synopsis on the bowling stories (tentatively titled “The Perfect Score”). Oh, and there’s more. There’s a passel of them waiting outside, trying to get in with their g-strings and oiled up tanned skin.
Too many WIPs, too little time. :flush_tb:

Anybody want a cowboy under their Christmas tree?
December 13th, 2005

Yeehaw! Have I got a cowboy for you then! :thumbup_tb:

For everyone who has met TJ and Hank over the past months and waited for The Harder They Fall to be available… wait no more!!

Spurs & Mistletoe 2: The Harder They Fall

Genre: Erotic Contemporary; BBW
Length: Novella

TJ Maguire runs her father’s successful rodeo business, and is busily trying to wrap up the final rodeo of the season. When a disqualified cowboy tries to bully, intimidate, wheedle, whine, bribe, and finally to romance her into changing her mind, she does her best to ignore him. But it’s so very hard to do, nearly as hard as his body. He’s a helluva man in a long, tall package that sets her palms to itch and her body on fire. When they end up in bed together, the sheets aren’t the only things that burn. Will TJ listen to her head or her heart?

If Hank doesn’t compete in the all-around in the rodeo, he can’t compete in the nationals in Vegas. That’s a damn big purse to pass up for anyone. Intending to seduce TJ into changing her mind, Hank ends up being seduced instead. He discovers that TJ may be an even bigger prize than he ever imagined. Will Hank pursue his rodeo dream or give in to the heaven he finds in her arms?

The bigger they are, the harder they fall

The Harder They Fall

Pick up that cowboy to put under your Christmas tree today! :grin2_ee:

Stole this from Cece
December 10th, 2005

Yep, I stole this quiz from Cece. Pretty cool!

Which mythical creature resides in your soul?

For some reason, I am a unicorn! Imagine that, it involves a horse. :rolleyes_tb:

unicorn
UNICORN

You are a unicorn. A unicorn
is like a horse, but has a single magical horn
protruding from its forehead. Unicorns are the
ultimate symbol of purity and innocence. A
unicorn is the ultimate sign of goodness. A
classic unicorn is bright white with a golden
horn. Unicorns are playful creatures and will
never resort to violence. So to kill a unicorn
is a very shameful, terrible thing to do
indeed.
