Day 1
November 1st, 2005

I was going to rant about my hellacious commute this morning , but I decided instead to let you imagine that an 18 mile commute took an hour and how long I actually sat in traffic with a bunch of obnoxious bobos.
So what is Day 1? Day 1 for me means a lot of things.
Day 1 is the first day of November - the coming of the holidays, birthday, and a new year
Day 1 is the first day after I started by weeklong writing challenge. My ultimate goal was 15 pages. I wrote 13 pages and nearly 3000 words.
Day 1 is the first day that I am determined to lose the weight I gained back. The story goes I lost 50 pounds starting in 2003 through 2004. Somehow in the last few months, I’ve gained back 20. Today is day 1, I saw the weight in my face and drew the line in the concrete (not sand). Today is truly day 1. I am giving myself 3 months to get rid of the 20 and another 2 to lose the last 15 that was my ultimate goal.
Today is day 1 and it’s a new day. Sort of like I’m closing the door on yesterday and walking forward into today.
Waxing poetic this morning, I know, but I need to put this down so the concrete is set. No more excuses or lame reasons!
