Turtle power
September 11th, 2005

Yup, I’m in turtle mode. Not talking, not playing, not participating. Sorry folks, but sometimes you’ve got to retreat for personal reasons.
Things are getting better, one step at a time. I feel like I’ll be “back in the saddle” within a week or two. I’m trying to write a bit every day or I’ll lose my hook on The Treasure. I also wrote part two of Behind the Hedge, the short story published in serial format in Sasha White’s ezine each month.
I’m heading back into my shell again. Look for me to pop my head up again tomorrow to say hey. Maybe I’ll be much wittier by then.

Cover Game
September 8th, 2005

So, there’s this hilarious game that authors are playing where you enter the title of your book in quotes in Google images and what comes up first is the new cover for your book.
Here I go…
The Bounty - this one I like. Yum, Mel Gibson!

Running loose
September 7th, 2005

Hey, y’all. I think today is going to be a better day than yesterday… The Loose Id author Puzzle and Scavenger Hunt has kicked off.
What is that, you ask?
Well, we took two pictures, The Nymph and Native American Hunks, nd divided them into 21 puzzle pieces. These 21 Loose Id authors (of which I am a proud member ), have hidden puzzle pieces on various websites, blogs, and newsletters. Your job is to find them…

The prizes include trade paperbacks, Loose Id Gift Certificates, ebook downloads and a mini-digital camera to SEVENTY-FIVE (75) lucky winners.

The contestants start at The Sensuous Alien Newsletter on September 6th, 2005 to find the first puzzle piece. Right after that puzzle piece is the link to the website or blog where you can find the next puzzle piece and follow the links until all 21 pieces are located. The puzzle pieces are numbered as Nymph #1 through Nymph #10 and NA Hunks #1 through NA Hunks #11.

Each Contestant needs to send an email to selkiewife@sff.net in order to submit his or her entry for the prize drawing. In the body of the email, the contestant lists WHERE he or she found each puzzle piece.

All emails with the complete list of puzzle pieces and their locations are entered into a random drawing. Names will be randomly drawn on September 21, 2005 until all 75 prizes are awarded. The prize award announcement listing the winners and their prizes will be made on September 21, 2005. The individual authors will then email and/or snail mail the prizes to the lucky winners.

Good look y’all!

Edits complete!
September 6th, 2005

Whew, I was worried there, but my editor Lynne came through and the edits for The Reward are about complete. Now hopefully I will hear from my cover artist about the painting… Hello David? Come on, pal, let me hear from you…
I didn’t get a whole lot of writing done this weekend in between laundry bliss, reviewing edits, and doing website work. The Muses have hit the online community with a splash - with over 10,000 hits and 25 honorary muses and growing, we are grinning from ear to ear. We were also joined by one more muse, Sappho, a.k.a. Karen Mandeville. We are now 11 strong.
The muses will be on FAR Chatters Yahoo group this Saturday from 2 p.m. to 12 a.m. EST. Look out world, we’re musing along.
